1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of the My Life Advocates website and related services (the "Platform"). By creating an account, checking the acceptance box at sign-up, or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
This document is placeholder development content and is not attorney-reviewed. It must be replaced before a production launch that accepts real users or payments.
2. What My Life Advocates is
My Life Advocates is a professional advocacy marketplace. It helps individuals, businesses, and verified advocates organize Advocacy Pages, invitations, documents, engagements, and related workflows so people can move from feeling unheard or disorganized toward having a clearer plan and professional support.
- The Platform is not a law firm and does not provide legal representation.
- The Platform does not provide legal, medical, or financial advice, and is not a substitute for licensed professionals in those fields.
- The Platform is not a petition site, fundraiser, or guarantee of any particular outcome.
- Nothing on the Platform guarantees a specific result for any Advocacy Page, Campaign, Engagement, consultation, or Service Package.
3. Advocates and credentials
Advocates who offer services through the Platform are independent professionals. They are not employees, partners, or agents of My Life Advocates solely by using the Platform.
- Licensed credentials (for example, attorney, physician, or other regulated licenses), when shown, are identified separately from general advocate verification badges.
- Verification, specialist, or similar badges indicate Platform review status where applicable — they do not create an employment relationship or guarantee competence for every matter.
- You are responsible for evaluating whether an advocate is appropriate for your situation, including confirming any licenses required in your jurisdiction.
4. Accounts and acceptable use
You must provide accurate registration information and keep your credentials secure. You may not use the Platform to harass others, upload unlawful content, attempt to bypass privacy or access controls, scrape the service in abusive ways, or interfere with Platform security or operations.
Content you submit (including Advocacy Page stories, documents, and messages) must be content you have the right to share. You remain responsible for your content and for choosing an appropriate document privacy level.
5. Payments and platform fees
Certain services (including Service Packages and other paid offerings) are processed through Stripe. When you purchase a Service Package through the Platform, My Life Advocates currently collects a platform fee of 10%of the purchase amount (subject to change with notice as the product matures). The remainder is attributable to the advocate under the Platform's payout rules.
- Payment card and bank details are handled by Stripe; the Platform does not store full card numbers.
- Refunds, when available, follow Platform refund workflows and applicable Stripe processes. Approval may require Platform review.
- Displayed prices and fees at checkout control the amount charged for that transaction.
6. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts, remove content, or restrict features when we reasonably believe there is a Terms violation, legal risk, fraud, abuse, safety concern, or need to protect users or the Platform. You may stop using the Platform and request account closure through available support channels. Some records may be retained as described in the Privacy Policy.
7. Disputes
If a disagreement arises between a client and an advocate about services or payments, you should first attempt to resolve it directly through Platform tools (including messaging and refund requests where available). The Platform may review reports and payment disputes as an intermediary but is not obligated to mediate every conflict or to guarantee a particular resolution.
Placeholder: governing law, venue, arbitration, and class-action waiver language — if any — must be supplied by counsel before launch.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that advocates or content will meet your expectations.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, My Life Advocates and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the Platform or from interactions with advocates or other users. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the Platform will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid to the Platform in platform fees in the twelve months before the claim or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (USD $100), except where liability cannot be limited under applicable law.
Placeholder: these liability caps and disclaimer scopes require attorney review for your jurisdictions of operation.
9. Changes
We may update these Terms as the product develops. Material changes should be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, except where applicable law requires a different process.
